1975.03.19 B. A. University of California, Santa Cruz Philosophy:
Honors in Major; Honors on Thesis
"Stanley Jungleib's Senior Thesis was a comprehensive, intelligent
and in_depth analysis of Schopenhauer's philosophy and the general
principles it relies upon. The very size of this work was truly impressive:
far more than a customary senior thesis. The paper reveals an extraordinary
familiarity of the author with the primary and secondary sources.
Equally impressive is Stanley's ability to sustain an intense analysis
and criticism of Schopenhauer's central ideas. The thesis was granted
Honors without hesitation."
1975.04 - 1976.03 UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SANTA CRUZ Stevenson College
Post-BA Apprentice Teacher
Designed and taught two accredited philosophy (metaphysics) courses
under minimal supervision. Kant, Schopenhauer, Wittgenstein, and Eastern
philophy were discussed in light of theories of philosophical reticence.
College yr 5
1975.09 -1976.06 Coffee House Attendant, Stevenson College, Santa Cruz.
1975.12 GRE Advanced test, Philosophy 740
A much improved score here due strictly to the fact that I crammed
a small book written by Danto, who was the head of the Am. Phil. Assoc.
at the time. The test was this American school, with all of its uninspiring
plainfaceness that I was to soon discover worsphipped at its temple
in Rochester.
